On Thursday 19th April, a one-day interactive and skills based public health “advocacy in action” workshop was held and facilitated by Dr Mel Stoneham. A total of 22 participants attended the workshop, including several PHAA (Q) committee members. The participants used the PHAI advocacy model to work up an advocacy programs for locally identified issues including connecting public transport, advocating for ‘seconds’ fruit & veg consumption in childhood settings, equitable paternity leave & co-design of an Aboriginal health hub. It was an excellent day.
