Local Government Planning Guide
New resource for local governments: "Public Health Planning: A guide to developing a local government Public Health Plan"
This year, the WA Government is expected to pass the Public Health Bill 2011. One of the requirements of this bill is that all local governments will be required to develop a Public Health Plan. In preparation for this, PHAIWA, in partnership with Stoneham and Associates, have developed a free guide to assist local governments to develop a Public Health Plan.

Local Government Survey Report and Factsheets
PHAIWA surveyed all local governments in WA to investigate their expectations with regard to public health from both government and non-government agencies. 12 Advocacy Targets set for Overweight and Obesity
In 2008 the PHAIWA organised an Obesity Forum attended by approximately 140 professionals from public health and related areas to discuss the development of agreed priority areas for advocacy on obesity in WA. To progress the outcomes we recently convened a workshop with a smaller group of experts from organisations with which we work to distil these down further. The result of the workshop was agreement on 12 Advocacy Targets for Overweight and Obesity.
