Professional Development and Capacity Building

PHAIWA’s capacity-building program focuses specifically on providing tools, resources and skills to organisations and individuals to improve their ability to achieve effective advocacy. Our capacity building and professional development activities use traditional and innovative methods of delivery.

In addition to running professional development events such as workshops, forums and seminars, PHAIWA also build capacity for emerging advocates through a mentoring program and facilitates advocacy networks in current public health leaders through our executive conversation series.

Our capacity building programs cater to a wide audience. If you are interested in training for specific advocacy skills, have a suggestion for a forum or seminar, or want to be part of the next advocacy mentoring program please email Myra Robinson on This email address is being protected from spambots. We are also able to tailor training and professional development to suit groups and organisations. For organisations wishing to run some advocacy training, please download the expression of interest form below and send it back to us.
