Children's Environment and Health Local Government Showcase
The Public Health Advocacy Institute of WA is excited to unveil the Children’s Environment and Health Local Government Showcase, a document which features the standout strategies identified in the inaugural Children’s Environment and Health Local Government Report Card Project that was run in 2011.

Indigenous Storybook Launch
On Wednesday November 16th, the inaugural West Australian Indigenous Storybook was officially launched by The Hon Robyn McSweeny, Minister for Child Protection; Community Services; Seniors and Volunteering; Women’s Interest and Youth.
The launch, which was held at the Men’s Outreach Service in Broome, was a huge success, with over 60 people attending, including many of the Storytellers and organisations involved in bringing the Storybook to life. All Storytellers were presented with their own Storybook by the Minister.

Road Safety & Media Campaigns: "How well do they work? What Support do they need?"
Healthy Roads in association with the Office of Road Safety (ORS) are holding a forum on road safety and media campaigns on the 24th November 2011. The session will focus on the use of media, ORS WA road safety campaigns, campaign evaluation as well what people and organisations can do to support the campaigns. Local Government Children's Environment & Health Awards announced
PHAIWA would like to congratulate the City of Subiaco for winning the inaugural Children’s Environment & Health Awards held this morning as part of our Local Government Report Card Project. The City of Subiaco was judged best in the state from a field of 19 council submissions, primarily due to their comprehensive children’s consultation framework outlined in their Child Friendly City Plan.

CURTIN STUDENTS CALL TO “CLEAR THE AIR” IN PUBLIC PLACES
A team of Curtin University Health Promotion students have united with the mission to force the government to tighten legislation to protect children and adults from harm caused by passive smoke, in particular smoking in public doorways. "Clear the Air" are looking for people to sign the petition (see attachment below) and join their campaign.
